Colin is a self-taught artist with a passion for exploring colour, form, line and light in his work. Contemporary abstracted landscapes are his main focus inspired by the Yorkshire Wolds and the North of England. In his still life and portraiture work he adopts a contemporary modern tonalist approach. He uses multiple layering, clear mark making and evident brush strokes to help the observer interpret his particular drawing and painting process and the techniques used.
