Penny De Corte
Venue 5: Barmby Moor
Ceramics
Tactile ceramic art including sensuous sculptural vessels, wall plaques and animal forms, all hand crafted by coiling, burnishing and smoke-firing
Working with a mixture of contemporary style and traditional methods, Penny is continuously challenging her creative skills and fulfilling her passion for working with clay. When designing and sculpting animals and birds she strips away the distraction of detail to create fluid designs. Burnishing to a smooth sensuous finish creates a further tactility that demands to be touched and enjoyed. Nature’s spirals have always been a fascination to Penny inspiring her current range of coiled vessels and wall plaques.
