Handmade terracotta tiles in the mediaeval tradition – replicas of historic floor tiles, designs from manuscripts and art history
Richard is inspired by the decorative art of the craftspeople who made the thousands of ornamental tiles that decorated churches and abbeys in the 13th-14th centuries, and by their methods. He makes by hand glazed terracotta tiles from scratch in his workshop, using the colour palette of England in the Middle Ages.
